“How to reduce stress through gentle healing and deep relaxation”

Tell us a little about Lotus Wood Journey, LLC and your specialty:

I founded Lotus Wood Journey in 2016, I am a Reiki Master, I teach Reiki, I am a certified Life Coach, I have a certificate in The Fundamentals of Neuroscience, I am an author “Become the You Your Younger Self Needed” and creator of #IAMFREE a Path to Empowerment curriculum for high school students.

What’s unique about your services?

Why I feel I am so unique is that I lived my journey, I did the hard work, I found forgiveness and compassion in myself and for others.  I believe my growth was how I found peace after I developed Bell’s Palsy and GERD after my dad died in 2009.  I acknowledged who I was and what I needed.  The value I bring to others is that I am aware of the pain, I am also aware of the freedom and how to get there.

What is reiki?  Why should people consider it?

Reiki energy healing is a holistic practice that activates our body's energy systems to remove blocks. When we break through these energetic blocks, our body is stimulated allowing the body to naturally and more effectively heal itself.   Reiki is not a religion. Reiki is a holistic form of gentle healing that is a safe and effective method for stress reduction and deep relaxation.  Reiki does not replace medicine it will, however, enhance the healing process.   It is IMPORTANT to know that Reiki is a holistic form of complementary healing.  Reiki does not replace your prescribed medications and/or any of your medical care. 

If you are looking to find peace, clarity, forgiveness, understanding, even hope, you should look into Reiki treatments. You will feel lighter to gain a better focus.  Reiki will help in the healing process both mentally and physically.  Reiki can be given to anyone and any age.  Reiki is wonderful for expecting moms and newborns.

I want to mention, Reiki treatments are more effective when you come with an open mind ready for healing.  Reiki is not a one time fix, maintenance is recommended. 

Explain meditation for those who may not fully understand its purpose?

Meditation is not always about being quiet for twenty minutes.  Meditation is about quieting your mind to allow it to rest.  Meditation is about allowing the noise to show up but not react, meditation is about inner peace healing.  Meditation can be gardening, walking, swimming, even sitting quietly.  Meditation is about your breath, how you can acknowledge it, find it, return to it so that you can control the thoughts that control your actions and reactions

Who do you primarily work with?

I have clients from ages 13 - 60 but I primarily work with high school and college ages.

Tell us about your books and programs you’ve created?

My book makes me so proud.  "Become the You Your Younger Self Needed" the first part of the book is about my journey from Bell’s Palsy and GERD to empowerment,  The second part of the book are meditations that I wrote that helped me along my intense journey. 

#IAMFREE A Path To Empowerment is a high school curriculum workbook that can be complementary to the health curriculum.  #IAMFREE has three sections; Part 1 - Removing the Weeds, Part Two - Planting the Seeds, and Part Three - New Growth.   Each part has a lesson, an agreement, activity, and meditations

What advice can you offer for those battling through the pandemic?

Well, I suggest finding online classes, online support such as myself, reorganize your space, take a walk, put a puzzle together, even have virtual dinners with friends.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

Wow, this is a great question, in five years I have another book published. I have my dream car,  a white dodge challenger, and the most valuable goal,  I have #IAMFREE in high schools around the nation.

The COVID-19 has impacted many…in many ways…for many reasons, how do you see people getting through these tough times post-COVID19?...why?

For me, I have a newfound understanding and value of the supplies I use daily.   I also have found that I am no longer wasting food because it was so limited that I was able to learn portion control.  I do believe we can get through COVID.
